Dear Friends, As I prayed early this morning I heard such encouraging words from the Lord for those who are struggling to see and understand what is going on around you right now. These words are a gentle reminder of what is always most important, which is our heart's total surrender to Jesus. I pray these words from His heart will bless you! “A surrendered heart is all I need. No matter what you are going through, your surrender to Me is the key to victory. You may not have the answers; you may not even see the way ahead of you, but a simple surrendering of yourself again is the yieldedness that allows Me to move you forward.”
I saw two visions as the Lord spoke: the first was of the Lord dancing with His Bride, leading her across a dance floor with His steps. As she surrendered to His lead, she was automatically led into the places where she needed to be.*
The second vision was of a child's game: a “trust walk,” where someone is blindfolded, and must yield and listen to the guidance of the one who sees. In this vision, the voice of Jesus was guiding. The Lord continued to speak, saying: “Your highest calling is to give Me your heart daily. There is no other purpose or call greater than that. It is our unity that contains power not only to accomplish great things, but also to defeat the enemy. Your safest place - even when you don’t see the future - is in Me. “When you cannot see what I am doing, you come to trust more deeply in My gentle touches, which become a love language more powerful than any words can convey. I am sensitizing you to the slightest movements; the slightest impressions of My touch, so that you are able to instinctively follow where I lead without needing to see or understand. Your responses become automatic and there is less need for conversation and explanation simply because you trust Me deeply. You know. “The enemy would frustrate you in places like these, places where sight is hindered or impossible. Instead of yielding to the enemy's pressure and frustration, yield to the gentle impressions I am releasing now. Lean into what you know is of Me, and your sensitivity to My promptings will grow stronger, even in the face of demonic taunts. "In times like these you will not always perceive your own progress; it will seem like you are going in circles when in fact, you’ll find that I have all the time been moving you across the room, out of the crowded chaos and into a place of intimacy and peace with Me. “Do not fear the darkness (of being or feeling sightless). Fear losing touch with Me!”
*Early church fathers talked about the Trinity in terms of a divine dance (Greek: "perichoresis," meaning "rotating" or "going around"), with each member finding joy in one another as separate yet completely unified.
The underlying - and almost romantic - sense of perichoresis in the Godhead is often lost in traditional theological exegesis. Yet as even a cursory reading of Song of Songs or John 17 indicates, our triune God welcomes believers into this very same "dance" of love and union with Him, filling and encompassing us with His Presence! I'm praying for each of my readers and friends today, that your "love language" with Jesus will be one of deep surrender, complete trust even when you don't understand, and the knowledge that you are dearly loved and encompassed all around by His everlasting arms.
