We can be sure that God celebrates the birth of His Son just as we do! (See Luke 2:8-15). Yet in the busyness of our preparations and the challenges of our relationships, we can become overwhelmed. The Lord gave me a picture recently that has helped me to find peace in the midst of this busy time. I pray it will be a gift to you, too! Merry Christmas.
Last week I shared the story of my relationship with my husband. When we married, he said, “Everything I have is yours.” And later, when God walked us through overwhelming financial battles, God repeated those same words to me: “Everything I have is yours.” (Click here to read previous post). He unlocked strategies for me that I had not seen before. Today, I want to give you three of those strategies.  When I married my husband Kevan, one of the first things he said to me was: “Everything I have is yours.” I had been living happily on my own for a while, working in a downtown Boston ministry, making my home in the suburbs, and enjoying a life shared with church, family and friends. I was decidedly not pining for a husband, as young women often do, and was fairly independent and self-sufficient. I can honestly say I liked being single!  'Tis the season for "peace on earth, goodwill toward men." A green wreath graces my front door, and the sweet smell of cookies fills my home, even this early in December. My kids have located the station that plays continuous Christmas music, so there are carols streaming from our radio in the background. I love the warmth and joy the holiday season brings. It feels peaceful and comforting, like a favorite blanket. |
