5 Essential Things You Need to Know About Jesus - article from Deborah Perkins of www.HisInscriptions.com #Easter #Jesus #Bible #God

If you spent any time in Sunday School as a child, you know that God is love. You know the Christmas story and the Easter story, and you know that Jesus died for you. But when the harsh realities of life kick in, sometimes these stories can seem like fairy tales.

When you feel disconnected from the Lord, or you feel like God doesn’t love you, what will help restore your trust in His goodness? What do you really need to know about Jesus that will keep you “on track” spiritually?

Here are "5 Essential Things" you to know about Jesus, things that will get you through the tougher times in life. They are not EVERYTHING there is to know about Jesus, they're just some essential things I believe will help you hang on when the going gets tough.

THE RESURRECTION LIFESTYLE: Learn to live the Christian life in the power of Christ's resurrection! Includes prophetic word. Blog post by Deborah Perkins of HisInscriptions.com.

"The more you rely upon the Anointed One (Jesus) and His anointing in you, the more life you will impart to others through your creations."

This is what God whispered to me this week. He is looking for people who rely fully on Him as they live, work, minister and create things for Him. I believe He wants us to move beyond the quick prayers we send up at the beginning of our projects or events ("Bless this, Lord...") and move deeper into a place of total reliance on His Holy Spirit. Listen to what He shared in my prayer time:

What Some Desperate Chickens Taught Me About Desperate Prayers - blog post by Deborah Perkins, His Inscriptions.com Praying when you're desperate!

I had the unparalleled joy of running around my yard at 6:48 this morning, half-naked in my robe and slippers, chasing eight mutinous chickens who escaped, somehow, from their coop. I'm sure the neighbors thought I'd lost my mind.

The crucifixion of Christ is a reminder that all of us have to deal with times of death in our lives. We may have to face the death of a loved one, or the death of a dream, or the death of a hope we hold dear. At some point, we all come to our tombs, as Mary did in the resurrection story, and we have to confront the harsh realities of our mortality.

I had made it to church, at least. And the place was buzzing with excitement. Ministry time began, and those who needed prayer went forward. But I could not will my feet to move. I felt dead inside, indifferent. I had so effectively stifled my disappointment that I actually believed, standing there, that I did not need the restored hope that God was offering that day at the altar. I was okay. God could reach me right here, if He needed to. It was almost time to leave, anyway.

Then God surprised me.

A Passover Meditation: Looking at Jewish-Christian roots during the Passover season. Deborah Perkins / Hisinscriptions.com
As believers who are growing and maturing in Christ, we will eventually reach the point where we feel a new love for the Jewish nation and for Israel. In studying the book of Romans, we will come to realize that it is God’s desire to call the Jewish nation, who initially rejected Christ, back to Him. We will begin to understand that it will be the Gentile church whom God uses in these last days to provoke Israel - through jealousy - to return to faith in God.
