"Power to do the impossible resides in the spirits of those who know Me," I heard the Lord whisper early yesterday morning. I am more convinced than ever that every day that we neglect God is a day that we give more ground to the enemy. What is deposited in us cannot be taken from us, but in order to be effective against the world's daily assaults, in order to do the impossible, we must tap into God's power at least daily! I just returned from a weekend retreat with some serious God-chasers in New Hampshire. It is the first time in a long while that I've had a chance to get away and do a longer retreat with the Lord and some committed friends. I feel refreshed, excited, and expectant about what is to come! The Connections Between Power, Partnership, and PrayerIn the wake of this retreat, the Lord is speaking a great deal to me about power, partnership with Him, and prayer. Our power comes from our partnership with a powerful King. Our partnership is developed through prayer. Life-giving communication with God is the key that unlocks all the blessings of partnership and opens the door for power to do the impossible! Every victory we sustain comes from a committed heart and a devoted mind. Daily we are attacked with lies from the enemy that threaten to undo us. For a weak believer, these lies can be detrimental, leading to a life of fruitlessness and persistent doubt concerning God's goodness. Strong believers are also assaulted by lies, although they may come more deceitfully: disguised as light, hidden in the shadows of our minds, or based on the trappings of the past. No matter how they come, these lies are designed to make us think that the life God promises us is impossible. Defeating the Lie of the "Impossible"Power to do the impossible can seem like a pipe dream unless we stay in touch with God through the reading of His Word, fellowship with believers and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit in prayer. We must remain in a place of prayer and partnership with God so that the power of the Holy Spirit can renew our minds. (See Romans 12:1-2.) Holy Spirit alone can show us where the hidden lies reside that hold us back from our destinies. We are living in a time of unprecedented favor that may not last. It is important that we take advantage of the ease with which we are able to freely seek God, to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. The amazing thing about partnership with God is that He knows His promises are impossible for us, and He has already invested 100% in His partnership with us, to make sure that nothing will stop His plan for our lives. That's worth shouting about! I hear the Lord saying, "Make good use of this time of favor. Press in tightly, for the stronger you become now, the easier the "night seasons" will be." We must seek His deposits of truth and love daily, for there is power in consistently seeking God. Every life you impact is a direct result of taking the time to seek God's face first, opening the door of His heart so that His love can flow freely back and forth to and through you. You are, in essence, a gatekeeper to the courtroom of heaven, a partner who possesses the keys to open doors of blessing and relationship for others! What's stopping you from using your keys? What adjustments do you need to make in order to have daily time with the King? What gifts do you have that seem to release the flow of the Holy Spirit to others? God is looking for partners who will bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth, now! The Lord has divine appointments waiting for you. He is calling you to get ready, for there are people you have not yet met who need what you have. Some of you are in the process of moving, several are changing jobs, and all of us are being repositioned for new assigments and new alignments. How do I know this? An army does not stand still! To do so for too long would mean certain death. The river of God that flows through you is not stagnant, but life-giving. The more you tap into His Presence, the more you will want to move, be transformed, reach out and give out to the world around you. We are destined to move and change, from glory to glory. We "get ready" by committing ourselves to prayer. In prayer we hear the whispers of what is to come. In prayer we encourage ourselves to stand against the enemy's onslaughts. In prayer we receive the King's strategies and power for the next portions of our journey. Without prayer, we are powerless and short-sighted, unable to see the way ahead of us. Go Do the Impossible!I shared a prophecy in New Hampshire that is especially relevant to women and intercessors. (You can read the full text here.) Those who have been praying for many years for the lost have wondered if their children will ever come home. The lie is that it's impossible. And the promise is still for your children! (See Acts 2:39.) But there are also children the Lord wants to give you that you did not bear, those who don't look like you, don't act like you, and - in many cases - bear the wounds of a generation that has been called "lost" and beyond repair. It's time to do the impossible. It's time to go get the lost, to show them the love God has shown us. No matter how pierced, tattooed, angry or ill-clad, they are still seeking real love and capable of witnessing to real truth. I am asking God to give me a greater capacity to love this generation, and I pray you will, too. We are only as effective as we are able to pass on what we have heard and received from the Lord. I want to leave you with a worship song that is bursting in my spirit right now. (Scroll down to listen to the YouTube). Dig deep, friends, and tap into the wells of life, renewal, and revival that already reside in you. Take whatever time is necessary to work with the Holy Spirit - your partner - to show you the places where the enemy has lied to you. Let the power of God's Presence in you overflow until it changes all your "impossible" situations!
