Dear Friends,
Christmas blessings to every reader of His Inscriptions! In this joyful season I am celebrating the gift of Jesus Christ!
I have been meditating on the first chapter of Ephesians, which reminds us of our hope of heaven's promised blessings, our redemption through Christ's forgiveness, our adoption as sons and daughters of a heavenly Father, and our inheritance in Him. YOUR INHERITANCE IN GODEphesians 1:11 states that believers in Christ have obtained an inheritance. Like the gifts under your tree which are specially selected and "predestined" to be yours, so God has determined in advance that you are to have an inheritance in Him! The Holy Spirit is the seal - like the ribbons or bows, perhaps, that seal a promised gift for you! But what is the gift? What is your inheritance? Is it mansions and glory, a pain-free life, or being reconnected with loved ones? I believe we will see all those blessings in heaven. But our inheritance is far greater than that! The riches of our inheritance are in Him. Take a look at these beautiful scriptures: Psalm 16:5 - "The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup." Romans 8:17 - "...if children, then heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ." Colossians 1:12 - "Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light." 1 Peter 1:4 - we are given new birth "into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade." Friends, the only One who never perishes, spoils, or fades is the Eternal One, God Himself! GOD'S INHERITANCE IN YOUThe same chapter in Ephesians says the Holy Spirit is given as a down payment on our inheritance, until the redemption of God's possession. What is God's possession? YOU ARE! Beloved, you are the apple of God's eye! Reread these Old Testament Scriptures: Deuteronomy 32:9 - "The Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance." Psalm 33:12 - "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance." In the New Testament, Ephesians 1:18 reveals that the riches of God's glorious inheritance are in you: I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. ~Ephesians 1:18, NASB
